The family of late retired Major General Rabe Abubakar says it will not forgive those responsible for his abduction and eventual death in the custody of bandits.
Speaking in Katsina on Sunday during an interaction with Newsmen, the deceased’s son, Isyaka Rabe-Abubakar, said the family has accepted the tragic incident as the will of God.
He, however, insisted that those behind the attack must face the consequences of their actions.
Isyaka described his father as a disciplined soldier, a mentor and a deeply religious man whose simple lifestyle often concealed his achievements in the military.
He pointed out that the retired general was known for his humility and willingness to guide younger people and prayed for the safe return of his mother, who still remains in captivity.
“We will not forgive those behind this act,” he declared.
“We believe what happened to our father was destined by Allah. We believe he died a martyr and will be granted a place in Paradise,” he stayed.

The deceased who once served as Director of Defence Information, was abducted alongside his wife on May 30 while travelling along the Matazu-Katsina Road.
