The People First Mandate led by Dr. Uchenna Kalu Akpi has expressed profound appreciation to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for what it described as a remarkable display of leadership, maturity, and inclusiveness during the stakeholders’ meeting held in Umuahia ahead of the party primaries.
In a statement issued shortly after the meeting, the group commended Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for his reassuring speech and strong commitment towards ensuring a peaceful, transparent, free, and credible primary election process within the party.
According to the group, the Deputy Speaker has continued to distinguish himself as a leader who carries everyone along, listens to differing opinions, and prioritizes the collective interest of the party above personal ambitions.
“We sincerely thank our party leader, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for his wonderful speech and words of encouragement to party faithful across the state. His assurance that no candidate will be given automatic tickets, and that every aspirant will go through either consensus or direct primaries, has further strengthened our confidence in the leadership of our great party,” the statement read.
The group noted that the leadership style of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has helped to reposition the APC in Abia State as a united and formidable political force capable of winning elections across the state in 2027.
“Unlike many leaders who think only about themselves and their personal interests, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has demonstrated uncommon leadership by accommodating everyone and building bridges across different interests within the party. His leadership has brought peace, growth, unity, and renewed hope to APC members across Abia State.”
The People First Mandate further stated that it strongly believes that if the primary election is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner, Dr. Philips Nto will undoubtedly emerge victorious under the platform of the APC.
“We are confident that with a level playing field, the people’s choice, Dr. Philips Nto, will emerge as the winner to represent Abia North Senatorial Zone because of his widespread acceptance, capacity, credibility, and grassroots support across the state.”
The group also assured the APC leadership that its members would work tirelessly to ensure total victory for the party in all elective positions in Abia State, including delivering President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
“We remain committed to the progress and victory of our great party. Together, we shall mobilize support across every ward and local government to ensure APC records overwhelming victories in Abia State and delivers President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027.”
