Ex-International Boxer Advocates Re-election of Abia, Enugu Govs, Declaring that they have performed

Democracy activist and ex-international boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, has called on Nigerians to prioritize the election of candidates with proven grassroots leadership and measurable track records over campaign rhetoric.

In a release titled: “Strengthening Nigeria’s Democracy Through Active Civic Participation”, Mazi Okoronkwo, however, reminded people of voting age that they could only exercise their civic duty by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and voting in the upcoming elections.

“Your vote remains your strongest voice,” Okoronkwo stated.

The Ex-International Boxer specifically urged residents of Abia and Enugu States to consider returning their current Governors and State Assembly Speakers to office, describing them as tested and trusted leaders with visible records of delivering democratic dividends.

Turning to the sports community, he added: “Support only candidates committed to promoting sporting activities.”

According to him, both Abia and Enugu State administrations have made notable contributions to grassroots sports development, particularly in boxing.

“I am a witness to these efforts,” he pointed out.
