It was the turn of Ikwuano Indigenes to feel the presence of Abia State Government as the Governor, Dr Alex Otti, officially flagged off of the construction of the 13.5 Ariam-Usaka Ring Road in Ikwuano LGA, the second in a day for the Agriculturally endowed area.

Performing the ceremony on Friday, at Obeama Ariam Model Primary School, Governor Otti made it clear that fixing the Ariam-Usaka ring road would result in a new cycle of investments that would ultimately transform Ikwuano and assured that it would be completed within one year.
According to him, the Ariam-Usaka Ring Road has been designed as an economic enabler for the people of Ikwuano in particular and the entire Abia at large, because of the interconnectivity of agriculture and general scope of entrepreneurship in the area.

The Governor announced that his government is making plans to commence other road infrastructure development design and execution when the 2026 budget cycle comes into effect.
“The grand plan is to connect communities within Oloko, Oboro, Ibere and Ariam to each other and to the clans and communities in Bende, Umuahia North and South local government areas.”
While thanking the people for their support during the 2015 polls, the Governor noted,
“Abia is better today because you insisted that our great State deserved better than what it had yesterday.”

Governor Otti urged the people to continue to be steadfast in their support for his administration, and refuse to be misled by those who flourish in dishonest communication and ignoble lies.

In their speeches, the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial zone, Senator Austin Akobundu and the member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon. Boniface Isienyi thanked the Governor for remembering their constituents and flagging off the project.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Otumchere Oti, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Izuchukwu Onwughara enjoined the people to own the project as well as cooperate with the contractor.
